Hi all,
The nationals ended with a pretty mixed note, which is pretty much the same as all major competitions. Some of you didn't do well, others shot beyond expectations. Its up to the low ones to pick up while you still can while the well-off ones make use of this chance to further improve or stabilize your techniques.
Low.
Those who didn't do well, or even those who felt bad for dragging the team down, pick up. Fast. The best would be just to keep the lessons and throw away the pain. If you fall, stand back up or stay down. When you are able to stand up on your own and make these defeats seem minor obstacles you'll learn stuff you never expected along the way, and gain the respect of everyone around you.
High.
Some of you did spectacularly, and I applaud for that yea? Reflects your seriousness to training, focus in shooting, and maybe even bravery in trying out totally radical techniques just before competition dates. All of which I pretty much lack. But after this performance its time to go back to the focus and rigors of mad 5 day training regimes. (So in other words make your victory worth the months of silent mugger-like training sessions.)
Feeling.
I won't tell you how to feel about the nationals, your emotions belong to you and you pretty much decide what you want to feel, and what you want to do. Feel sad or happy. Feel free to chose. Just know what you need to do and be brave enough to do it.
Message to Sec 1s
Nationals should be a great experience for you guys, no matter if you went to compete or not. But now its time for you guys to focus hard on the finer details in every single training session. Its no longer just fun with guns. Its even no longer getting shots and staring at a card for 2hrs just because the 'man' told you so. You guys saw the Hwachong flag in Safra, and next year you guys are not gonna be simply teammates to the Sec 2s, you guys are gonna be the Sec 2s, being the ones who actually get your team the point advantage above the others. Its gonna be harder as it goes, but the prize at the end gets bigger for every step you walk towards it.
See ya,
Chuaxy
Fall and pick up, don't stay down, its gonna get harder to get back up again.
